Amid One Direction fans, specifically fans of Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, there has been an ongoing rumor that the two singers had a relationship a long time ago.

Harry Styles has been a lot more private about his love life, never really giving any specifics about his relationship status or his sexuality, and doesn't seem too bothered about the speculation surrounding him. However, Louis Tomlinson has been more insistent in his denial of the rumors, but it seems he realized the best he can do is ignore them.

"What I realized a few years ago is that there is nothing I can say," he explained. "There is nothing I can do to stop those who believe in this conspiracy. They are so connected to what they believe that they will not see the truth for what it really is."

"There are times when it gets very personal. I have my son, Freddie. He is the most important person in my life. And occasionally, [these rumors] end up addressing things that are a little unfair."

Still, he prefers to let it go. "This is what we have now. There's nothing I can do about it. Nothing I can say to stop people from inventing what they want to invent. So, so be it."

While the One Direction alum doesn't normally like to talk about the rumors, this is not the first time he's shared how the speculations make him feel. A few years ago, he called the rumors about him and Harry Styles "disrespectful" to his girlfriend at the time, and said it even affected the way he interacted with his friend.
